In this essay I will propose an analysis of Aristotle’s concept of kinesis aisthetike/phantastike. I have collected many short pieces of evidence that can be detected in Aristotle’s psychological corpus about this topic, in order to understand if Aristotle, when he speaks about kinesis, has in mind a coherent theory. My conclusion is that he had such a theory (although never clearly expounded by Aristotle himself) that can be expounded in a systematic way, which is what I try to do in the last section of the paper.
