A digital critical edition of Cicero’s Timaeus is forthcoming as part of the “e-Cicero” research project (directed by Clara Auvray-Assayas). In addition to a new French translation, this edition includes a Latin-Greek synopsis with notes, as well as a basic Latin-Greek lexicon. This paper aims to present an example of the kind of research that electronic resources can facilitate. The selected case study is the lexicon of causality, with reference to the terms causa and culpa as a translation of αἰτία , αἴτιον and ἀρχή and their compounds.
