The first volume of the Neuedition of Kant’s works has been edited under the auspices of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Academy of Sciences at the very end of 2023, including the first three Latin dissertations published by the author, De igne (1755), Nova dilucidatio (1755), and Monadologia Physica (1756), whereas the edition of the dissertation De mundi sensibilis atque intellegibilis forma et principiis (1770) will be included in the second volume, now in preparation. In this paper, the motivations for a new critical edition are explained as well as the criteria that differentiate it from the classical Akademie-Ausgabe edition, which dates back at the beginning of the last century.
